When we feel that the organization can’t live without us, and we all do periodically, it’s time to re-evaluate. If we feel the organization will stumble while we’re gone something is amiss. On the other hand, when we feel we can leave at any time for any amount of time, we have built a strong organization.
Not taking a vacation is like staying late and working overtime. We get far more work done in the first hour in the morning than we do in the two tired hours working overtime. It’s the same with vacation; if we want to get more work done, we must get rested and get refreshed.
They’ll be fine without us. Take your vacation.
