One of my favorite lines to shake people up in my performance seminars is; “If you’re bored on the job,.. go back to work.”
Often, our energy drain can come from the famous definition of insanity; doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Quite possibly we are starting to mark time by the annual banquet, the annual planning session, the annual festival, the annual parade and the annual budget followed by the annual banquet, the annual planning session…
The recent economic recession has had many playing it safe, keeping our heads down while just maintaining and before we know it, four years have past. It’s no wonder our energy is drained. We just might be bored.
Maybe it’s time to get the adrenalin pumping with some new innovation. Maybe it’s time to get fired up before the board does. When energy is low, consider shaking things up.
